Ride-On Sweepers

Dust and debris in warehouses and production areas can be difficult to handle safely. Manual techniques create airborne dust that settles on products, rafters and back on the floor. Not to mention that it is very time consuming and subsequently expensive. Ride-on sweepers could offer a safe and efficient solution to collecting dust and debris from your floor.

Clean Safely & Effectively

Ride-on sweepers have a built in vacuum to suppress dust. This reduces atmospheric dust so your floors aren’t immediately covered in dust again and you have safe working environment for operators and machinery.

Top Tip: Only use the side brush for cleaning up to objects. Unless it has a side brush vacuum or water spray for dust suppression.

Dust or Debris?

All of our sweepers collect both but there are two different sweeping principles, each with it’s own advantages. You need to consider the ratio of debris to dust as well as the size and weight of the debris you wish to collect.

For Large Amounts of Debris

If the surface is heavily soiled with dust or large amounts of heavy/large debris, a front-throw industrial sweeper offers the best performance. As the debris is only swept a short distance forward into the hopper, it can collect a lot of surprising large and heavy debris. Front-throw sweepers are popular for large open areas and very heavy-duty applications.

There are some disadvantages of front-throw sweepers. As the hopper fills from the bottom, the full capacity cannot be realised before the operator must empty it. You will need a much bigger hopper when comparing to an “over-throw” warehouse sweeper of the same width. Visibility can also be an issue in confined spaces as the operator sits at the back of the machine.

For Dust

An over-throw sweeping principle, throws dust and debris over the brush into a hopper at the back. As the hopper fills from the top, the hopper can be completely filled before it needs to be emptied. This type of ride-on sweeper is the most popular for small to medium areas. When compared to a front-throw sweeper, it offers better visibility in a more compact machine to clean the same sized area. This principle of sweeping struggles with heavily soiled areas and heavy debris.
