Industrial Central Vacuum Systems

Factory cleaning can pose site managers and owners many problems. Having many vacuum cleaners requires substantial management, support and poses material handling risks to operators.

Reducing The Risks

Manual Handling

Even with industrial vacuums of the correct specification, you cannot eliminate the risk of manual handling. This can either be from moving vacuums or accessories or by handling and disposing of full waste containers.

A central industrial vacuum system allows operators to collect dust from points around your site and contain it in a central location. This could be collection in a that your waste recycling contractor can directly dispose of.

Operator Misuse & Abuse

The more machines and operators you have, the more likely it is that your equipment will suffer from improper use. This could be over-filling, incorrect disposal or improper use of filter bags which could put many of your staff at risk. With a centralised system, you simply need an accessory kit at each pipe work inlet. Operators connect the kit to an inlet and vacuum.

NOT SURE WHAT MACHINE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

How Does it Work?

Industrial central vacuum systems generally consists of 3 main parts; the suction unit, the separator and the pipe work.

The Suction Unit

This is the main working part of the whole system. It vacuums dust from the farthest take-off point in the factory; while the maximum number of operators are using the system.

The Pipe Work

There are a handful of key factors when we specify pipe work systems. We need to consider the greatest distance we need to vacuum, the product density and the number of simultaneous operators. These figures ensure we get the right size pipe work to keep the material in the vacuum air stream from the inlet to the separator.

The Separator

The separator is where we separate the material from the air stream. In a mobile vacuum this is inside the vacuum filter chamber. In a centralised system the point of separation doesn’t have to be at the vacuum unit. It is often close to it, but is generally wherever it is easiest for you to dispose, or recycle of the collected product. We can separate your product into bulk containers such as silos or skips or into bulk bags; it all depends on the material and how you want to handle it.
